What this guide covers
Set up your studio link (hosted on Taktics) and optionally connect your own domain so members book under your brand.
Before you start
- You are the studio owner (only owners can change the link slug, add domains, or archive)
- Your studio already has a default link like
{slug}.taktics.studiofrom welcome setup (hosted on Taktics — no DNS for you to configure)
Step by step
1. Your studio link
- Open Brand → Domains.
- Confirm your studio name and link look right. Use Copy link for Instagram, Google Business, or your website.
- To change the short name in the URL, edit the Link slug, wait for Available, then Save link. No DNS is required for this Taktics-hosted address.
2. Optional: your own domain
- Expand Your own domain.
- Prefer www (for example
www.yourstudio.com). Add a CNAME at your registrar that points to the value shown under Points to. - Tap Add domain. Under the domain, Taktics shows a TXT record (name
_taktics-verify.<your domain>, valuetaktics-verify=…). Add it at your registrar: it proves the domain is yours. If your DNS provider adds your domain to the name for you, enter only the part before it. - Wait a few minutes for DNS, then tap Check DNS. Owners and studio admins can run the check.
- When status is Live, checkout and booking can use that hostname with your Stripe Connect account, and studio emails can be sent from it.
Leave the TXT record in place. It is only checked when you tap Check DNS.
Root domains without www often need a redirect to www at your registrar.
Your own domain is part of Pro. If your studio moves to Usage, or your subscription stops, the domain pauses: visitors are sent to your studio link, studio email goes out from your studio's Taktics address, and Brand → Domains shows the domain as paused and why. Your studio link keeps working the whole time. When your studio is back on Pro, the domain comes back on its own, with no DNS changes.
3. Archive or reactivate
- Archive storefront pauses public booking on your link. Sessions, customers, staff, locations, and credits stay in admin for your records.
- Reactivate turns the public link back on. Custom domains that were paused stay paused. Click Resume on a paused domain to put it back to waiting on DNS, then Check DNS to put it live again.
